Gulf Islamic Investments LLC (“GII”) was established in 2014. Its origins extend from a decade earlier in 2004, when it was known as Union National Financial Consultancy (UNFC).

 

GII is engaged in Financial Consulting and is licensed and regulated by Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) of the UAE. The company is domiciled in mainland Abu Dhabi, with a branch in mainland Dubai.

GII’s advisory services cater for a diversified group of clients globally from a range of backgrounds, industries and alternative investment requirements, driven by the extensive competence and rich experience of its service teams. Its successful track record of advising clients across the GCC and beyond has been instrumental in the latter’s financial growth and overall success.

Our Services

  • to make recommendations to clients on proposed investment transactions, including, but not limited to, timing, price and structures that are fully complaint with Shariah; to liaise with any Government bodies, valuers and other professionals to provide advice and assistance for structuring the client’s investment transactions.
  • to conduct a preliminary (and ongoing) market study of the client’s proposed investment, evaluate commercial, financial, legal and regulatory risks associated with the transaction and propose strategies for mitigating those risks.
  • to recommend to the client the appointment of an appropriate professional team to conduct due diligence of their investment transactions, include all but not limited to: lawyers, accounting firms, banks, financial institutions, insurers, building surveyors and valuers, real estate brokers and other professional advisors.
  • to make appropriate recommendations to the client, based on due diligence findings received from their engaged professional advisors.
  • to provide other ancillary or additional financial advisory services to meet the client’s requirements.

Pankaj Gupta

Co-Founder & Co- CEO

Pankaj’s role at Gulf Islamic Investments LLC (GII) encompasses leadership, strategy, business and people. His unique grasp of industry nuances and innovative eye for detail have been pivotal in the company’s increasing success.

After key positions in regional asset building and investment growth, Pankaj has over two decades of experience in conceptualizing, launching and running successful investment and advisory businesses.

His initial role at the National Bank of Abu Dhabi i.e., NBAD, (now known as FAB) from 2000-2004 focused on managing multi-asset investment portfolios for UHNWI worth several billion dollars, significantly enhancing the investors’ portfolios.

During 2004-2007, Pankaj was instrumental in starting and developing the Union National Financial Consultancy, running investment portfolios of USD 2.5 billion. In parallel, he set up Allied Investment Partners in 2007, with a USD 5 bn. debt advisory and syndication account for TDIC (including the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi) where he was involved until 2014. Between 2012–2014, Pankaj established a private equity platform called SOUQ with AIP, IL&FS of India and Emirates NBD Capital, exiting in 2014 to co-found GII.

Pankaj has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. He also holds an Advanced Professional Diploma as a Financial Times Non-Executive Director (from Pearsons/Financial Times). A firm believer in the power of encouraging new ideas and supporting education business ventures, he is also involved in numerous projects and company startups, as both an advisor and Board Member.

Mohammed Mansour M. Al Hassan

Co-Founder & Co- CEO

Mohammed played an anchor role in establishing Gulf Islamic Investments LLC (GII) in 2014, with responsibility for company leadership and strategy.

He possesses vast experience in advisory and managing client and investor relations in the alternative investment space covering real estate, private equity and venture capital across the GCC, Europe and the US.

Mohammed has over 15 years of experience in Islamic investment banking across the GCC. He currently sits on the boards of various regional companies, and is an extremely well-networked individual with close ties to SWFs, banks & financial institutions, family offices, and UHNWIs across the GCC. His domain strengths include advisory on general management, investment management, M&A, deal sourcing, structuring and capital raising.

Prior to founding GII, Mohammed held positions as Director of Investments with EJ Capital and – previously – as an Executive Director for Investment Placement (KSA & Kuwait) at Gulf Finance House 3 (GFH). In both roles, he was instrumental in raising millions of dollars’ worth of capital for investment opportunities and driving regional growth.

Mohammed holds a Business Administration degree, specializing in marketing, from NYIT Bahrain. From Pearsons/ Financial Times, Mohammed also holds the Financial Times Non-Executive Director Advanced Professional Diploma.
